I created this scene using Unreal Engine 4, Maya, Zbrush, World Creator 2, Speedtree, Substance Painter and Substance Designer. I used Megascans for the smaller foliage, Speedtree for the larger trees, and I used Maya and Zbrush for the rocks, cliff faces, snow clumps and building meshes. Abbey Li modeled the fence and wood planks for the scene. The terrain was created using World Creator 2, and the textures were applied procedurally through a custom landscape material that generates snow based on elevation. I also created a custom prop master material that allows vertex painting and allows procedural generation and displacement of snow based on the model’s top faces.
I created a low poly block out of the rocks and snow clumps in Maya, and then I sculpted high poly details in Zbrush. After the sculpting was complete, I baked the high poly maps onto the low poly meshes in Substance Painter, and from there I created the various rock textures. The snow was applied procedurally through the custom shader in Unreal Engine 4.
